Short answers to the questions new workspaces ask most often. Each one links to the page that covers it properly.

Collection and data

How often is data collected?

Weekly, every Monday, from each AI platform through their official APIs. You can also start the same collection on demand; on-demand runs draw from your plan’s monthly run budget. See collection cadence.

Which AI platforms do you monitor?

Starter and Pro collect 7 AI platforms: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Copilot, and Google AI Overviews. Growth and Agency add Google AI Mode, for 8. Grok is a paid add-on on every plan. See AI platforms per plan.

Why do the platforms disagree with each other?

Because they read different sources and weight them differently. A brand that leads on one platform and is absent from another usually has a source problem rather than a general visibility problem, which is why Rankings breaks every number out per platform.

Why does the same question get a different answer week to week?

AI platforms vary their answers by design. That is exactly why CiteHawk measures on a steady cadence against a fixed prompt set: a single ask proves very little, and the trend across several weeks is the part you can act on.

Scores

How are the scores calculated?

CiteHawk tracks two 0 to 100 scores. Visibility measures how widely and often AI recommends you in answers to buyer questions; Brand Health measures how accurately and positively AI describes you. Every number opens to the real AI answers behind it. See the scores.

My score moved and I do not know why.

Click it. Every score opens to the collected answers that produced it, stamped with the platform and the date. That is the whole point of the receipts principle: a number you cannot trace is a number you cannot defend.

Competitors and brands

Can I monitor competitor brands?

Yes. Every plan includes competitor slots, more on higher tiers, and CiteHawk also discovers competitors automatically from the AI answers it collects. See your competitor set.

How do I set up alerts?

Alerts collect on the Alerts page, reached from the bell in the top bar. The thresholds that raise an alert live under Settings, then Notifications. Which alert emails you receive, including the weekly digest, is set under Account, then Notification preferences. Alerts cover share-of-voice shifts, a brand appearing or disappearing, sentiment changes and budget warnings.

How many brands or projects can I have?

Each plan includes a set number of projects, and you can add more for a monthly add-on. The brands you track inside a project are unlimited: plans differ by prompt volume, projects, and markets, not by brand count. See Billing and plans.

Plans and trials

What happens after my free AI visibility report?

You can choose a paid plan to start monitoring your brand weekly, or stay on the free report. Nothing is charged unless you pick a plan.

What does the free trial include?

A 14-day trial of the full Growth-level feature set, including the check widget and its leads, collecting the Growth engine roster. It opens features, not data volume: prompt and market counts stay at your subscription’s level, and only the agency domain surfaces (custom and sending domains) stay paid-only. See the free trial.

Do I need a card to start?

No. Signup takes an email address, and the first report is free.

Integrations

Can I get my data out of CiteHawk?

Yes, three ways: shareable web reports, CSV and JSON export, and the API. See Reports and sharing and Connect your AI.

Can I connect CiteHawk to Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. CiteHawk runs an MCP server with read-only tools, and clients that support connectors can add it with a one-click authorization rather than an API key. See Connect your AI.

My MCP client will not authenticate, but my API key works elsewhere.

Check whether the key has scopes selected. The MCP server accepts unscoped keys only, and rejects a scoped one as an ordinary authorization failure without explaining why. See scopes and MCP.
